But in all seriousness (as if i wasn't serious above, ha), i've decided to compile a wee lil' list of the many things that i miss, in honor of this momentous occasion. Here goes:
- Seeing as it's the title of this blog, i don't really think it needs to be said that i miss my morning XL black, double cup. The world just doesn't look the same when fueled by instant coffee, folks.
- The unwavering confidence that comes with the knowledge that when i flip a light switch, the light will, undoubtedly and 100% of the time, turn on.
- Ditto the above but for hot water.
- Never in a million years did i think i would say this, but i miss Canada-sized bugs. i miss being able to tell myself "i am bigger than this bug...it is probably more scared of me than i am of it." These same reassurances don't really work when the bug in question is almost as thick as my wrist and longer than the length of my hand. In fact, in the two seconds that we were face to face, i'm pretty sure i saw the bastard laughing at me. What a jerk!
- Oh, how i sometimes long for pavement!
- A land where matatus are not an acceptable mode of public transportation. A lot of the time i'm too tall for these things and my head hits the roof but i can't sink down in the seat because my legs are too long. i believe this is a human rights violation. i will consult with the UN.
- The ignorance that came with not getting excited every time i saw a white person and then acknowledging said white person with a sort of relief-filled smile and getting a similar smile in return.
- Perogies. So help me God, i would probably kill a baby kitten for some perogies right about now.
- And last but certainly not least (no way does the giant bug come before)...all of YOU lovely people!! Thanks so much for your wonderful e-mails and comments, they make me all warm and fuzzy on the inside! (even as i talk about killing kittens...)
love love love love love!

Hmm, technically speaking it's been four weeks. One-month anniversary comes on October 11. Not that it makes much of a difference, of course.
ReplyDeleteI know what you think - those damn scientists! :)
Luv u!
